1. About this policy
This policy applies to used OEM engines, transmissions and other auto parts ("parts") that you buy from AutoYolo ("AutoYolo", "we", "us") by website, phone, text message or email. It is part of your order and of our Terms & Conditions. If anything in this policy conflicts with the quote or invoice for your order, the quote or invoice controls for that order.
2. Quotes and orders
A quote is not an order and does not bind you or us. An order is placed when you approve a quote or invoice and we confirm it and receive your payment authorization. Your quote and invoice state the part, price, warranty term, estimated delivery time and any installation requirements. Please check that the year, make, model, engine or transmission code and VIN on them are correct before you approve. Prices and availability can change until an order is confirmed.
3. Cancelling an order
- Within 24 hours: you can cancel an order within 24 hours of placing it, as long as it has not shipped, for a full refund.
- How to cancel: contact us by email or by calling customer service. A cancellation is effective once we confirm it in writing.
- After 24 hours or after shipping: the order can no longer be cancelled and is handled as a return under section 5.
- Please contact us before disputing a charge. Customers must contact AutoYolo and give us the chance to resolve the problem before starting a chargeback or payment dispute with their bank or card issuer (see section 8).
4. Delivery and inspection
Delivery times shown on a quote or on our site are estimates, not guarantees. We are not responsible for delays caused by carriers, weather or events outside our control. If your part has not arrived when expected, contact us and we will trace the shipment with the carrier.
Liftgate, forklift and special delivery. Shipments that need a liftgate, a forklift, inside delivery, or delivery to a residential or remote address may incur additional freight charges. Those charges are based on the transportation carrier's rates and are the customer's responsibility. Tell us at the time of your order if the delivery address has no loading dock or forklift.
Inspect before you accept. Parts ship by tracked freight or parcel. When the shipment arrives (at your address or at your repair shop):
- Check the packaging, crate or pallet for damage before the driver leaves.
- Write any visible damage or shortage on the carrier's delivery receipt (bill of lading) before signing, and take photos.
- Report damage to us within 48 hours of delivery, with photos, so we can file a carrier claim. Keep all packaging until the claim is resolved.
- If the shipment is clearly damaged, you may refuse it or accept it with the damage noted. Do not refuse a shipment that is not damaged: refused deliveries are returned at the buyer's cost.
If you have the part shipped to a repair shop or another person, that shop or person is acting for you when they receive and inspect it. Damage that is not reported within 48 hours may not be eligible for a claim.
5. Returns
Return period and authorization. To return a part, contact us within the return period below, counted in calendar days from the delivery date, and request a return authorization (RMA) number. We cannot accept returns sent without an RMA number.
- Mechanical parts (engines, transmissions, transfer cases, axles, differentials, drive shafts, electrical and electronic parts and similar): 10 calendar days from delivery.
- Body parts (bumpers, doors, hoods, fenders, lights, mirrors, glass and similar): 7 calendar days from delivery.
- Damaged or defective parts may be returned within the applicable return period above (warranty claims on engines and transmissions follow section 6).
Condition. A part can be returned only if it is in the same condition as when delivered: not installed, not run, not modified, with all components and original packaging and with identification tags and numbers intact. We inspect every returned part. A part that does not pass inspection may be sent back to you at your cost or refunded at a reduced amount.
Non-returnable parts. Parts ordered or used for testing, trial or diagnostic purposes are not returnable. Other parts that cannot be returned for a change of mind include any part that has been installed or run, electronic control modules and other electrical parts that have been installed or programmed, parts specially sourced or ordered for you, and parts damaged after delivery.
If you ordered or gave us wrong information (for example, the wrong part for your vehicle, or an incorrect VIN or year/make/model), you may return the part under the conditions above. Return shipping is at your cost, and we may deduct a restocking fee of up to 20% of the part price.
If we made the mistake (we supplied a part that does not match the vehicle details you gave us, or the part arrived defective or damaged), we pay for return shipping and will, at your choice, send the correct part or refund what you paid for the part.
Return shipping. Engines and transmissions must be returned by freight, strapped to a pallet or crated as we instruct. Use the carrier and instructions we give you and ship with tracking. You are responsible for the part until we receive it.
6. Limited warranty
What it covers. We warrant that the part you receive is mechanically sound and free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for the warranty period stated on your quote and invoice (for engines and transmissions, between 90 days and 1 year depending on the part). The warranty starts on the delivery date and applies to the original buyer for the vehicle named on the order.
Mechanic's report. For a defect claim on a mechanical part, you must give us a detailed written report from a certified or registered mechanic or repair shop. It should include the vehicle's VIN and mileage, the date of inspection, the tests performed, the findings, the cause of the failure and photos. We investigate the report, and we may inspect, test or diagnose the part ourselves before we approve a refund, repair or replacement.
Conditions. To keep the warranty valid:
- The part must be installed by a qualified repair shop, and any installation requirements on your quote must be met.
- Related parts, fluids and filters must be replaced or serviced as the manufacturer recommends. Examples include the correct oil, coolant or transmission fluid, and replacing worn or damaged related components.
- Contact us before any repair or teardown of a part you believe is defective, and give us the chance to inspect, test and diagnose it. Repairs or replacements made without our written approval are not covered.
- Keep your invoice and your installation and service records. We may ask to see them.
Your remedy. If a covered defect is confirmed, we will, at our choice, repair the part, replace it with a comparable part, or refund the price you paid for the part. A replacement carries the remaining warranty period of the original part. This is your only remedy under the warranty.
What it does not cover. The warranty does not cover:
- labor, diagnostic fees, towing, rental vehicles, fluids or any other cost of removing, installing or repairing the part, unless your quote says in writing that it is included;
- damage caused by incorrect installation, overheating, lack of lubrication or coolant, contamination, accident, misuse, abuse, neglect, racing or off-road use, flood, fire or modification;
- failures caused by a related component that was worn, damaged or not replaced;
- normal wear, and items normally replaced at installation such as gaskets, seals, belts and filters;
- parts whose identification has been removed or altered, or that have been opened or repaired by anyone other than us.
Warranty and liability limits. TO THE EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, THIS LIMITED WARRANTY REPLACES ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, AND ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY (INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE) IS LIMITED TO THE SAME PERIOD AS THIS WRITTEN WARRANTY. TO THE EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, AND OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO A PART IS LIMITED TO THE PRICE YOU PAID FOR THAT PART. Some states do not allow limits on how long an implied warranty lasts or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the limits above may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights that vary by state.
7. How refunds are paid
- Full refund. To receive a full refund for a returned part, the part must be returned to us within the applicable return period in section 5 (counted from the delivery date), with an RMA number, and must pass our inspection.
- Refunds are paid to the original payment method. Card refunds usually appear on your statement within 5–10 business days after we process them, depending on your bank. Refunds of payments made by Zelle or wire transfer are returned by bank transfer to the account the payment came from.
- After we receive the returned part and inspect it, we issue the replacement or refund within 5–7 business days. The same timing applies after we approve a cancellation or warranty refund.
- Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable, except when the return is due to our error or the part was defective or damaged. Restocking fees and return shipping costs described above are deducted from the refund where they apply.
- We cannot refund payments to a different person or account than the one that paid.
8. Payment disputes and chargebacks
If you have a problem with an order, contact us first. We respond within 2 business days and will work with you to resolve it. By ordering you agree to contact AutoYolo before starting a chargeback or payment dispute. If a dispute or chargeback is filed, we may give your card issuer or bank the records of your order, including your quote and invoice, your payment authorization and signed or e-signed approval, delivery confirmation and signed delivery receipt, photos, and our communications with you.
9. Governing law
This policy and any dispute about your order are governed by the laws of the State of Washington and applicable federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before starting any legal action, you agree to first give us written notice of the problem and 30 days to resolve it. Nothing in this policy takes away consumer rights that cannot be waived under your state's law.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The version in effect on the date you place your order applies to that order.
